Louise and John Macintyre

The Senior Pastor is John Macintyre.

John and Louise (a midwife at John Hunter) have 4 children going to High School and University.

The Macintyres came to Newcastle in 2000 believing the city needs more good Bible based churches. Prior to starting at St Philips/Surfside Newcastle they planted Tamworth Community Presbyterian Church in country NSW.

They are excited about how God has grown St Philips and Surfside and love the team of eldes and pastors they are working with.

John has a passion for church planting having now planted 2 churches and sponsored 2 other church plants. John recently researched church planting movements and approaches to church planting and designed the NSW Presbyterian Church Planting Strategy.  

John gets excited about Jesus, family, football (That's the soccer variety the beautiful game) and surfing.  

When not watching or playing football the Macs like to take in any of Newcastle great surfbreaks.

A graduate of both Moore Theological College and Presbyterian Theological Centre Sydney, John has seen the powerful results of God's word the bible in peoples' lives. He feels the ideal church not only looks outward with the good news about Jesus but cares for each other in love.
