Gospel

Our approach is first and foremost to preach the gospel (the good news about Jesus Christ) in a real and relevant way. We have worked at making our church meetings welcoming, friendly, enjoyable, prayerful, a place where the Bible is read, the Bible is explained, and the songs are enjoyable singable

The resutls are always up to God, we are just called to be faithful. So God has brought a whole lot of people to himself since 2000 and we have been humbled by the way mission and outtreach continue to be central to what we are doing.

Growing Team

Our second great hope is to see people growing in their relationship with God. Yes, knowing him better but growing in obedience and enjoyment of God as well. To do this is what we mean by maturing in Christ, so a growing team would be a good description of our church community. The staff all have roles but a good part of these roles is supporting our lay members as they lead a service, learn to preach, play in the band, lead a home Bible study, and much more. We believe in training and equipping: why give someone a fish when you can teach them how to fish?

Where do we see the future?

We have a vision to see Newcastle and the Hunter region growing many good Bible teaching churches like our own. So we financially and prayerfully support local church planting initiatives. When that church is self-financing we hope to plant other churches as well. We see our role as encouraging other churches in our denomination.

We also see God's vision for the world and so cross cultural ministry - overseas mission - is key interest for our church community.
